Theology on Tap is a young adult ministry in the Diocese of Shreveport first developed by Renew International. Created in the Archdiocese of Chicago in 1981, this program has become a successful vehicle for reaching young adults interested in learning more about their faith, coming together to share community, and feeling welcomed and valued in the Catholic Church.
Theology on Tap is designed reach out to and collaborate with Catholic young adults who seek spiritual growth. It is a method of invitation, based on a spirit of hospitality, which creates space for people in their 20s, 30s, and even up to early 40s to explore how faith in Christ can speak to their circumstances.
Theology on Tap is structured around a series of events centering on relevant faith topics of interest to young adults. These events are held in restaurants, parish halls, coffee houses, and even bars - places where young adults feel welcome and comfortable. These events feature an engaging speaker presenting a relevant theological topic, time for discussion, faith sharing and community building.
Sessions are typically seasonal, so if you are a young adult in the area, consider this an invitation to meet new people and hear about your faith. You are welcome to join us! A schedule of upcoming Theology on Tap events will be posted on the Diocesan Event Calendar.
