The Diocese of Shreveport has implemented rigorous policies and programs to recognize and address that sexual and other abusive misconduct with minors is a special problem with a profound impact on the lives of those affected. These policies and programs are in place to provide for a safe environment for all children and persons who come in contact with those who minister, are employed, or volunteer in service of the Church.
All instructors of Religious Education must be certified before they can teach or serve in teaching ministry at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
If one attends an initial training session at another location in the Diocese of Shreveport, it is requested that they print their name on the sign-up roster, and the print the church parish they attend. If anyone plans to do any volunteer work of any sort for Holy Trinity Catholic Church at which youth are involved, they must be Safe Environment Certified.
The Diocese of Shreveport participates in VIRTUS. This is the brand name that identifies best practices programs designed to help prevent wrongdoing and promote "rightdoing" within religious organizations. The VIRTUS programs empower organizations and people to better control risk and improve the lives of all those who interact with the Church.
