A sacristan is a person who diligently arranges and prepares the liturgical books, vestments, and other things necessary for the celebration of Eucharistic Liturgy in the Catholic Church. In addition to practical components, their work may also include the sacred responsibilities of assisting in safeguarding the Precious Body & Blood, arranging the sacred vessels used in the Liturgy of the Eucharist, and distributing Holy Communion to the faithful during Mass.
At Holy Trinity Catholic Church, sacristans are scheduled for specific weekday and weekend Masses, funerals, and other special services. If anyone is interested in learning more about the duties and responsibilities of Sacristan, they are invited to call the parish office.
