Throughout the Global Coronavirus/COVID-19 Pandemic, we have invoked the prayers of our Five Priest Servants of God for an end to the pandemic. After all, they themselves gave their lives during the 1873 Yellow Fever epidemic here in our own parish in Shreveport! And now, thanks to God, there are many hopeful signs on vaccinations and reduction in the number of COVID-19 cases. However, no date is certain at which this pandemic will be declared over.
Now, as Catholics begin to return to celebrate the Holy Mass together, the Diocese of Shreveport and Holy Trinity Catholic Church welcome our faithful parishioners "back into the pews." We would like to assure our parishioners and guests that we are doing our part to maintain a healthy and safe environment for community worship. Proper sanitizing procedures, social distancing, and safety measures remain our priority.
Gather your face masks, bandanas, face coverings.
Sanitize your hands.
Use the restroom
Missalettes and hymnals are available for use.
Please use the hand sanitizer stations at each entrance, upon entering the Church.
Please minimize touching surfaces, pews, kneelers, as a precautionary measure.
Maintaining social distancing is requested, especially in line to receive Holy Communion.
Note that our pews and surfaces are being sanitized with electrostatic disinfectant spray regularly.
We ask that church restrooms be used only when truly necessary.
During this time, the Holy Eucharist is administered under one species only: the Body of Christ. (But remember, the Catholic Doctrine of Concomitance holds that when receiving Holy Communion, the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ is present under the appearance of bread alone, and under the appearance of wine alone.
Clergy and ministers are encouraged to wear face masks when distributing of Holy Communion.
